President Donald Trump announced a one-time $90 payment for eligible Medicare Part B enrollees on October 5 2026. More than 20 million people are expected to qualify for the payment.[2] To receive the payment, seniors must be United States resident Medicare Part B enrollees. They may not be receiving Medicaid premium assistance, and may not be enrolled in Medicare Advantage.[4] Funds for the payments will be drawn from the Medicare Improvement Fund. This fund had been previously earmarked for other programs prior to redirection.[3] The payment is intended to compensate enrollees for a portion of the upcoming October premium.[1]
